This breakpoint is before the tone stack, so you can EQ the sound after the effects. The left would go out, and the right would come in from the effect(s). My first guess is to break the circuit just to the right of test point A in the schematic (near top center). There are a couple of points where you could add an effects loop. (You probably should check that this is the right schematic by doing some checks of the controls, lights, and maybe the circuit board.) The schematic shows an analog solid state amp, with understandable gain stages. Vox: Pathfinder 10 - Invader Jim's Pictures | Ultimate-Guitar.Com A quick google search found this schematic: This loop will not drive a reverb tank directly - you need a little more circuitry to drive the springs, but you can get a reverb unit or other time effects that would work in an effects loop. Okay, I assume you want to add an effects loop to the amp. It was one of my first amp projects several years back, so I took pics to document it.ES.G. Note in some places, the factory screws were so close to the edge of the baffle that they were pulling loose, so I relocated some inward to bite into solid (particle board) material. You will probably have to remove the middle of the batten at the bottom of the cabinet, but not all cabs have this. Restaple the grille cloth and trim piping to the front, keeping it taut. This masks a tiny part of the speaker, but not significantly. Then cut the opening with a jig saw, but you will want to stop your cut just below the gold trim, and cut parallel to the trim and just below it, like you can see on my cutout section. You will want to determine that by the choice of speaker you use, since not all of them have as big of a magnet structure as my alnico. Then draw your 10" opening so it drops the center of the speaker down a bit. I covered with paper to keep dust off the cloth. Then fold the grille cloth out of the way over the vinyl on the front face, maybe using some tape to hold it above the gold trim (pic 1). Leaving the gold trim strip and the vinyl on the upper face of the grille intact, you carefully remove the many (a zillion!) long skinny staples that hold the cloth and white vinyl trim bead to the edges of the baffle. Remove the speaker and the fiddly little studs (pics 2, 4) that hold it in place. I love these little amps, and happy to help anyone else trying to enjoy them.īasically, you disconnect the speaker and the unscrew the baffle from the wood battens all around the sides.
